Elvis Costello & The Imposters

Why see Elvis Costello & The Imposters?

Early Elvis

An icon of new wave, Elvis Costello & The Imposters are out on the road again this fall, bringing that distinctive voice, lyrical wit, and catchy hooks to a venue near you. First coming to prominence in 1977 with debut album 'My Aim Is True', Costello (real name Declan McManus) has been steadily making music ever since, with classic hits including 'Alison', 'Oliver's Army', 'She', 'Pump it Up' and more.

In addition to his enviable career in music (Costello has worked with everyone from Burt Bacharach to the Foo Fighters,) he's also forged ahead creating movie soundtracks, nabbing acting roles and doing charity work. Don't miss this punk-hearted musical chameleon at one of his fantastically fun live dates as he delves into his early songs!

A Stunning Return

Elvis treated fans to a lengthy show, replete with his personal "deep-dive" songs representing a diversity of musical influences. Fans were, of course, given a selection of hits and other well known fan favorites, from a broad swath of albums spanning the decades. The sound system was excellent, and while at times. Costello's voice showed the wear of touring at the age of 69, it certainly didn't detract from the overall presentation of the songs. Most of the time, and increasingly evident as the show progressed, Costello peeled back the years with his voice hitting just the right crescendos and all of the melodic twists and turns of his songs. The crowd, at it's feet, was finally presented with I Want You as the show closer, an emotionally devastating confession of desire, no, obsession, accompanied by the wailing dissonance of the guitars of Elvis and Charlie Sexton. A must-see experience for EC fans! All in a beautiful theater, designed to heighten the concert-going experience. ... Read more
