Why see Amos Lee?

One Of Todays Folk Heroes

One of the shining stars of modern folk, Amos Lee crosses the genres of folk, soul and jazz and calls on Stevie Wonder and James Taylor as major influences. His 2011 album 'Mission Bell' topped the Billboard charts and included contributions from Willie Nelson among others. His follow-up album, 2013's Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, may have been met with mixed reviews, but as with any singer-songwriter of this genre, it's at a live performance where the magic is truly made.

His musical break came only after a stint as an English teacher at a second grade school in Philadelphia, alongside which he was a part-time bartender at local music bars. This musical influence saw him performing at open mic nights as be built up a network of industry contacts, one of which happened to be Bob Dylan's manager and, as they say, the rest of history.

Musical Talents From Start To Finish

Saw Amos Lee in December, 2019 at The Centre Theatre in Vancouver and that show was fabulous. Knew the August 8, 2022 show would exceed the last one with his new material added in to the content. Always willing to be appreciative of the audience, musicians and crew. Thanked me personally on stage for a card I sent backstage before the show telling him how I loved his first CD Mission Bell and play it in my vehicle 100% of the time. He dedicated the song, Mission Bell to me. I was honestly stunned at such a kind gesture. A once in a lifetime happening, no doubt. His vocal range is astounding and always the creative, meaningful lyrical songs memorable. One favourite for this time we are living is, Worry No More. Appropriate and sweet sentiment. The concert could not have been more perfect for a very appreciative crowd and definitely included me. He played till 10:20 pm and show should have ended at 10 pm. The extra two songs were superb. ... Read more
