Rick James was born in Buffalo, New York in 1948. A sticky situation and a lucky rescue later, James was on stage as part of The Mynah Birds. After a briefly turbulent time, James went on to start his iconic solo career delivering hits such as Give It To Me Baby and Mary Jane, and the rest is history.
